Sector-wide Advocacy
The Survivors Trust is the UK’s leading umbrella organisation for specialist sexual violence support services. We provide a collective voice to drive policy change and improve outcomes for all survivors.
We work with various government departments, Ministers and other key stakeholders to advocate for the specialist sexual violence sector, ensuring survivors remain at the centre of decision-making and policies. We have co-led and advised cross-party parliamentary groups (APPGs) to amplify survivors’ voices, scrutinise institutional responses, and secure accountability, transparency, and systemic reform.
We continue with our commitment to improve outcomes for survivors and establishing sustainable quality-assured specialist support for every survivor.
This All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) was created by Sarah Champion MP and The Survivors Trust to highlight the needs of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse across the country, and to give a voice to their concerns in Parliament.
The Survivors Trust were approached for our support because of our expertise in understanding institutional abuse, cover-ups, and advising on effective responses which put survivors at the centre.
